What to look for in a quality teak bench
Weight. The simplest test of how much teak is in a bench. Our 3-seat benches weigh 36–46kg, and every bench lists its weight so you can compare.
Thick legs and a deep back rail. Wider legs and a deeper crest rail make a stiffer frame that won't rack or wobble over the years. Our Nusa, Riverbank, Raffles, Komodo and Poppy benches stand on 7cm-wide legs; the Sulawesi, Java and Nusa have a 12cm-deep crest rail.
Joinery, not bolts. Look for benches held together by mortise-and-tenon joints and hidden dowels, with no bolts on show to rust, loosen or catch on clothes.
Heartwood, kiln-dried. The dense, oil-rich centre of the tree, dried so it stays stable outdoors. All our teak benches are sustainably sourced, high-grade heartwood.
A guarantee that means it. Many teak benches come with one to five years' cover. Our teak benches have a 10-year guarantee.
Delivered ready to use. Our benches arrive fully assembled, with no flat-pack fixings to tighten.

Yes. Our benches are kiln-dried heartwood teak and need no treatment. Left outside, teak weathers to a soft silver-grey within about six months, without losing strength.
