Does Teakunique use teak from sustainable sources?
All Teakunique furniture is made from teak, which has been sustainably and legally sourced, manufactured, and exported from Indonesia. The teak industry is strictly controlled by the Indonesian government, and our suppliers are able to (and indeed must in order to export) prove the origin and quality of their teak.
We visit Indonesia annually to inspect the teak assigned to Teakunique prior to the manufacturing process of our furniture.

Can we use our furniture indoors?
Teak is perfect for outdoor use as it is the hardest and most durable wood. It can be used indoors and looks fantastic in garden rooms and orangeries, however it is a natural product and household heating will alter the wood.
If used indoors, we recommend products with slates/space for movement.
What quality of teak do you use?
We insist on the use of top grade, knot free, mature heartwood, kiln-dried teak only – nothing else is acceptable!

How do I take care of teak furniture?
Teak is an exceptionally hard wood with natural oils, and as all Teakunique furniture is made from the very best grade teak and manufactured using superior techniques such as kiln drying, your furniture will withstand extreme weather conditions without shortening its life. Therefore, we recommend leaving Teakunique furniture outside to weather gracefully to its natural silver-grey colour. Remember to store extended tables at their full size so all the wood weathers at the same rate, and use lubricant over the runners to prevent moving parts from seizing up.
General care tips to spruce up your furniture include; using a power-hose from a respectable distance (so as not to damage the fibres of the wood) to remove any build-up of winter moss; absorbing any stains and spillages with kitchen paper as soon as possible and washing with light soapy water; removing stubborn marks with fine wire wool or fine sandpaper.

Do I need to use teak oil?
Applying teak oil will weaken the wood and shorten its lifespan. It’s also a time consuming process and once started, needs to be reapplied regularly.
If left alone, your furniture will not suffer and it will weather to an attractive grey colour.
Should I varnish or oil my teak furniture?
It is not necessary to add any products to Teakunique furniture, as they will not allow the wood and its natural oils to breathe. If left alone, your furniture will not suffer and will weather to an attractive silver-grey colour.
Varnish and oils are generally used on low-grade mass-produced teak furniture, however, it is a personal preference and some people do prefer to maintain the honey-coloured teak by using teak oils.
Just remember to sand and reapply the product annually otherwise black spots and blemishes can appear.
How do we protect our teak furniture from being eaten by wasps?
Although rare, when there are a large number of wasp nests, or an orchard nearby, wasps may try to nibble garden furniture.
The best solution is to see if the wasp nests can be eradicated, but if this is not possible, we would recommend using a product called Anti Wasp Solution. The solution is not oily and invisible once dry, which suits those who prefer their teak garden furniture to weather naturally.
What are your delivery charges?
Delivery is free for all orders over £750.
Delivery charges apply as follows: £15 for orders up to £15, £45 for orders between £151-£45, £75 for orders between £451-£750.

How long do deliveries take?
Orders are usually delivered within 1-2 weeks, unless stated otherwise.
Upon receipt of your order, we will contact you to confirm the delivery plan within 2 working days.
Deliveries via Teakunique’s own white glove delivery team to London, the Home Counties, and the majority of Southern England are usually delivered on Fridays and Saturdays within 5-10 days of order and a 1-hour delivery slot is given.
Deliveries via our preferred courier to the Midlands, Northern England, Wales and Scotland are usually delivered within 5-15 days or order and a 2-hour delivery slot is given. Orders sent via ParcelForce are usually delivered within 5 days.
What is Teakunique's white glove delivery service?
Fully assembled furniture is delivered with packaging materials already removed and placed in the desired location ready for instant use. If access is restricted, tables can be delivered with legs detached and assembled onsite. This is a one-man service, and our drivers may require assistance carrying heavier furniture such as larger tables or benches.

What is your returns and cancellation policy?
You can cancel your order within 14 days of receipt of the good(s) for all online, telephone, email and showroom or event orders, and we will refund in full the cost of the good(s) still in a new and unused condition. All we ask is that you pay the full costs of returning the order (or part of the order).
If you place an order using our Teakunique Bespoke service, you can cancel the order within 24 hours of the time the order was made and receive a full refund. After 24 hours and up to 14 days after receipt, we will offer 50% refund if you choose to cancel, with the exception of the Personalise service. As with our other returns, all we ask is that you pay the full costs of returning the order (or part of the order).
What is the Teakunique guarantee period?
Whilst our teak garden furniture is manufactured using the best materials and to the highest standards, faults and defects can occasionally occur. We guarantee to repair or replace defective furniture within 10 years of purchase. Please see Warranties & Returns
Natural grain movement or colour change does not constitute a fault. Defective furniture treated with products will not be replaced as many artificial products deplete the wood of natural oils and weaken furniture.
Unless there is a structural defect in the product delivered to you, we do not accept returns of any products notified to us later than 14 days after receipt.
